Tidak mungkin mencari tukang servis ponsel malam-malam deket rumah. Dan tentunya servis ponsel bakal mahal. Mana pas lagi bokek lagi. Setahu saya kalau ponsel telah enggak mampu di-charge, kemungkinannya harus mengganti suku cadang di gerai resmi yg mampu memakan waktu lama sebab barang harus dipesan dulu.
"Brengsek juga nih!" Begitulah batin saya berteriak.
Panik doang terang enggak membantu. Di tengah situasi genting tersebut terbersit suatu ide cemerlang. Saya bongkar-bongkar lemari. Nyari ponsel jadul peninggalan Ayah. Ketemu!
Itulah perjumpaan saya kembali seusai bertahun-tahun tidak bersua dengannya: Nokia 1200, salah satu ponsel terlaris dunia dari tahun 2008. Saya memeriksa tombol-tombol karetnya, tetap enak dipencet meski udah agak getas. Cek baterai, eh tetap penuh. Ya sudah, saya memutuskan memakainya lagi meski agak berat hati.
Kalian boleh menuding saya kecanduan device gara-gara panik seusai ponsel rusak. Terutama kalau anda tipe orang-orang sepakat pada pandangan nasib bakal lebih mudah dan membahagiakan tanpa smartphone. Ada juga yg hingga bela-belain kembali pakai "ponsel tolol" untuk melawan kecanduan kita pada gajet pintar.
Tapi saya kasih tahu alasannya kenapa tetap akan semakin pakai ponsel pintar. Orang-orang yg sok mengampanyekan "mari nasib tanpa smartphone" itu sebetulnya ga paham sama yg mereka anjurkan. Tai kucing semuanya.
Kok bisa? Nih, catatan pengalaman saya selagi seminggu bersi kukuh pakai hape jadul:
Hari Pertama
Ribet. Saya pergi ngantor agak siangan sementara istri telah keluar rumah pagi buta. Saya tidak punya kendaraan pribadi, begitu pula istri. Buat kerja, kami mempercayakan ojek online, soalnya rumah kami jauh banget dari transportasi umum, ke stasiun nyaris 10 kilometer, ke halte Transjakarta butuh setengah jam lebih jalan. (Yang nyuruh saya jalan, ayo mending kita berantem aja yok).
Pagi itu saya lupa kalau device tewas. Panik banget ketika sadar saya kesulitan memesan ojek online. Saya jadinya kudu mengirim SMS (iya SMS) ke istri untuk minta dipesankan ojek online. Saat pulang kantor juga sama, mengirim SMS lagi ke istri untuk dipesankan ojek online.
Lebih ribet kalau saya kudu ke luar kantor untuk berjumpa narasumber di berbagai tempat. Ok, mengirim SMS sih gampang ya, tinggal ngetik, tapi lebih mudah kalau pakai device ke mana-mana lah!
Hari itu tidak hanya telat hingga kantor, saya ngerasa capek. Apa-apa harus dua kali kerja. Hape di tangan, bimbang mau diapain. Sehari enggak pegang hape mampu dibilang kayak latihan intensif mengendalikan emosi dan kesehatan pikiran.
